This was our second stay at Windmill Retreat and we were not disappointed. The additions of the spa and The Levels Kitchen are excellent and we would definitely stay again.

Quite tatty in some areas of the house, the location of the hot tub means it’s a bit anti social if going with a group, also no anti foam agent added to hot tub means it’s really foamy!!!

Beautiful accommodation, large enough for large family. Lovely welcome pack when we arrived. This is my second stay at windmill retreat and I will definitely stay again. Lovely local pub that does fabulous meals. The village is quite but the people really friendly.

Our break was excellent from start to finish. We were warmly greeted by David (sorry if I have your name wrong) who gave us a great tour of our accommodation and facilities we were able to use. It was the little touches like having milk, tea & coffee for us and goodies from the local bakery. The site itself was easy to find with satnav, however we did say that the site needs a bigger sign outside and also needs to be lit up better in the dark. It is easy to drive past which a couple of us did. The bedrooms were all clean, the beds comfie and the robes and towels fluffy. There were a couple of things like paint chipped in certain areas but that is general wear & tear. The kitchen had everything you needed to cater for a group, please can you add some trivets or something where you can put hot pans/tins on. I was worried sick I was going to damage the worktops. Thank you for supply adequate cleaning supplies, so many lodges don't include enough. I couldn't see anywhere to place recycling/waste. Luckily we had a spare box so we put all of our stuff in there for the cleaners to sort. We didn't realize there was a small café on site, we didn't use it as we didn't realize it was there, could have gone there for our breakfast. The onsite spa smelt amazing but we didn't use it during our stay, it was £39 to use without a treatment which was bit expensive for the size. But I am sure the treatments are well worth it. We had dinner at the local pub The George which is a 10 min walk back into the village. Food was great and the prices were very reasonable. We loved the hot tub but felt we didn't have much privacy from the other guests on site. We all felt the same, and something like a bamboo fence at the end of the garden would just give you that privacy. There was nothing from stopping a neighbor/child/pet coming into your garden area.
