There are good and bad points with this site. The good points are that the site is very quiet and close to the sea however the bad points are that when we arrived after driving all the way from Scotland we found that we had to make our own beds. Also the road is covered in potholes. It would only take a couple of loads of hardcore and a days work to sort this out. The caravans are basically just parked in a field so there is no hard standing where you park the car so when it's wet you trail the wet into the caravan. The most disappointing thing though was when we cooked our first meal as the pot and a small dish had not been cleaned by the previous people and obviously this was not picked up when they left. I'm afraid I would not recommend this site.

The caravan was a bit tired. Laminate was cracked and damaged above the toaster. Laminate damaged on the edge of the table. Lots of potholes within the site roads. The road from the hain road shared with neighbouring property terrible state with potholes. We had a nice break in the area.

A lovely quiet site with good access to the Western Lake District fells and also close to the seaside with a good train link up and down the coast. Good walking from the site on safe quiet lanes. If you want activity on the site it's not for you. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Road to the holiday camp could have done with resurfacing but was not so bad that it damaged the car. The caravan was clean and well looked after and the person (Jackie) who was there when we arrived was very helpful. There was a folder in the caravan with details on how to use the heating, cooker etc and also booklets of tourist attractions. In the folder there was an out of hours contact number, which I used before we left as although the folder had lots of details it didn't tell you how to book out. The person who answered that number seemed surprised her number had been used and wasn't very welcoming. But overall, it was a great place to stay (would definitely stay there again should we be in the area). As our booking was pretty last minute the cost was very reasonable. No complaints. Plenty to do, as long as you're prepared to travel a bit
