We absolutely loved our time in the lodge, and we are 100% planning on returning.

Fabulous lodge- very well equipped and warm. Only downside was log burning hot-tub which took about 24 hrs to heat up and then needed to be maintained. But was great sitting in and watching the stars. Lovely area. Guest have free exclusive use of small hydrotherapy pool. Activities on site are fun and lots of outdoor activities on local area. A bonus is that Tesco deliver direct to the Lodge.

Love Calvert and Kielder! The lodge was lovely but.... the sofa is very uncomfortable, it’s low and hard to get out of, it’s hard and lumpy it actually hurts to sit on it. The beds weren’t the best and the pillows had seen better days. The underfloor heating only works when it wants too and only in some places. Small sections of the would heat up but the majority of it was cold, maintenance brought us some heaters up so fortunately we weren’t cold. The bathrooms are in need of a good bleaching or re-grouting, the smell isn’t to pleasant either. The WiFi doesn’t work. I didn’t mind so much but the kids weren’t best pleased. The kitchen is fab, lots of utensils white goods all easy to use. Hot tub was lovely. Takeaway meals were great for the kids. The lodge was lovely and spacious, clean and tidy the view was fantastic, the location is excellent for walkers and cyclists. Private use of the hydrotherapy pool was also great. We had a lovely weekend and were able to totally relax it just would have been nice to have a soft seat to sit on after a full day of bike riding.

The McArdle Lodge was a very well equipped, good sized, clean Lodge in a peaceful location. Hottub was private & always HOT. WiFi wasnt the best which didnt cause us a problem but would of been nice to have been able to use our Firestick. Couldn't get all the TV channels to work. Sound system in the lodge was great. Lovely walks without having to go near the main road - great for dog lovers like us!

on first impressions the lodge was lovely. On closer inspection it was tired. We stayed over Easter and as such paid a hefty price for the lodge. The outside space was dirty and needed a good clean. the hot tub buttons were all worn. Inside the kitchen was well stocked but the toaster didn't work on one side, the kettle was well past its date, the cupboard in the bedroom was hanging off and the walls were dirty. (looks like someone previous to us had spilt a drink). The steam room was an added bonus, but it couldn't be used as it was locked. The instructions weren't clear enough and didn't mention this. On the whole, I would have thought so early in the season and paying top price for the school holidays that the accomodation would have been better.

We stayed in the Bradbury Chalet and it was really good. Once we got used to the digital settings for almost everything we were fine. The chalet was spacious, well maintained and comfortable. We especially liked the en suite bathroom with it's own steam room! The wi fi reception was very poor but if you really need to be on line a quick drive/walk to Kielder waterside done the trick.

We needed a relaxing break and we love Kielder Forest so this was ideal for us. We loved the steam room, jacuzzi bath and hot tub which we made full use of (great for those aches and pains when youre getting to a certain age!) We were lucky to have beautiful sunshine in February so sitting in the hot tub looking out at the forest view was heaven. We will definitely book again.

Beautiful lodge with amazing facilities. A better equipped kitchen than I have at home. Not much to do in the way of activities in January but we really don’t mind we just enjoyed walking and cycling around the reservoir.
