Caravan - clean and comfortable Park - children enjoyed the holiday we didn’t spend a lot of time using the daytime entertainment as we ventured into the local area however the evening entertainment was enjoyable and the on site pub for food was reasonably priced and good quality. Staff were engaging and kept the kids entertained. ⏺ Walter walkers were broken and couldn’t do activity ⏺ could do with some modernisation and maintenance especially the changing rooms in the swimming pool ⏺ some areas run down

Chalet not clean, bathroom smelling of urine. This park is very outdated for the money it charges. Not enough entertainment for the children . Brian the entertainer puts his hand to many tasks and gives 100% and more and this should be acknowledged .

Clean accommodation and friendly staff. Didn’t access facilities on site but lodge had everything needed and site was quiet but safe. Bit out of the way for sightseeing but we didn’t mind the drive. Unfortunately had skin allergy I think linked to pets previously in accommodation.

I spend a 5 day break in one of their caravans, the caravan itself was clean modern and of a good standard. The rest of the park is in need of a major update and refurb. The walled garden is in ruins and appears to be just a dumping ground. You have to book a 45 minute slot at the pool, which is rather bizarre. The ladies working on reception and were pleasant and helpful, which is more than can be said of the upstairs bar area. I have stayed in many of these type of holiday parks and unfortunately will not be going back.

Chalets are outdated and in need of repairs, staff are friendly, food in restaurant/bar is good

Lovely place except for the communal change room in pool definitely needs an up grade or a good deep clean and new changing room curtains.

The park was beautiful, Chalets quiet & reasonably equipped. They required a little doing up, but as our radiator broke down, the serviceman said it would be replaced after we left (we were leaving the next morning). The swimming pool was not too enjoyable as we rushed in & hurried out as we'd only 45 mins to get in, swim & get out - but we did go at a busy time. Maybe when its not school holiday it will be quieter & you will not have to book a swim slot. The site wasn't far off the sea & village green, perfect for a stroll on the strand. We did report a non working dvd twice to reception (needed for the young kids), we left with no one coming to fix it. It didn't spoil the holiday but perhaps more care could be taken to make sure things are repaired or are in good working order. Overall we had a lovely holiday which we needed.

To access the facilities like swimming pool I need to book and that was open just from 2pm to 5pm, in the middle of the day. All the places you can visit are at the distance so we drive every day. Not much to do around. I book this holiday because all the facilities they offer but I ended very disappointed, I could book for less money for what I got. Not very clean, so I will not book again .

We had a great time at Solway! The staff were great, especially the entertainment team, they really looked after us and made our holiday! It rained 6 days out of 7 with 1 glorious day in the middle but that didn’t matter. With 3 girls at 16, 10 and 7, there was plenty to do for us all. The Hagan stars entertained us day and night and got to know us and our girls on a personal level, would highly recommend Solway holiday village.

Booked a few times and always enjoyed are stay ,however this time our caravan had no fire. Reported on arrival but was not fixed. Also the smell from the toilets was terrible possibly due to the amount of rain we had affecting the sewage. This was made worse as we had to use the central heating to warm the van.

The actual holiday village was outdated and given the pamphlets we were given on arrival the staff are unaware of serving times, as we were turned down for food on two occasions by two separate members of staff when advertised on said pamphlets that they were serving food. The most attractive part of this place was the alpaca farm which my daughter was so excited to see, but all of us were left upset and disheartened at the state of the farm as none of the animals had any water and given the humidity that we experienced while away I can only imagine the discomfort those animals were in. We can’t comment on the entertainment or the pool as we did not use these but were shocked to hear that we had to book a time slot for the pool.
