Had a great long weekend with family. A couple of things I would say is 1, an on-site shop would be handy. 2, the signage and lighting from reception to lodges could be better because as a newcomer driving to and from lodge was a bit difficult due to lack of signs and walking at night was difficult due to lighting! Minor things, I know. But just giving my honest opinion. Would also like to add that for the money I paid I would have liked towels to have been supplied.

Stayed in silver 4 which was advertised as new for 2019 which is very misleading as lodge was old with rotten decking with large screws sticking up through it which we only realised about after our 1 year old grandson fell on 1 whilst crawling and cut his chest. I reported this to reception who apologised and said would send maintenance but they still hadn’t been when we checked out the following day. Torn and marked wallpaper in bedrooms and whole in back of main bedroom door, water damaged work surface, grill pan but no rack so couldn’t use the grill, very shaky dining chairs and tables need replacing or revarnishing. All in all lodge desperately needs updating. The waterside pub / restaurant was nice and the staff we very friendly. The leisure centre was good and worth paying for for whole of stay. Would benefit from child’s play area.

The site is great but the food menu didn't have anything my children would eat so we didn't use the restaurant.

Feel that the pool should be included in price. Few more family activities would be better.

Great access to beaches and the Lakes - you can combine your holiday type. Facilities good, only down side is there is no play area for kids.

The lodge was aesthetically lovely, but there was constant traffic noise day & night from the motorway which shattered the peace & quiet we had hoped for. The water cut off when I was in the shower and I stood for 20 minutes covered in shower gel and shampoo before it came back on. However the comment from the receptionist was unacceptable & unprofessional when informed she said"You'll have to wait for it to rain" The male changing rooms in the leisure centre needed a deep clean & the staff were all standing around doing nothing. They insisted on taking a £40 deposit even though we had purchased accidental damage insurance for the lodge, this has now been returned to us.

Accommodation was not serviced when we arrived but sorted quickly. Good standard of accommodation in a decent location.

The first point is just how easy it is to get to being so close to the M6. It makes all the tourist attractions so easy to get too. We used the pool every day with the grandkids then went off to the Lakes most days as they’re very convenient to get to. We used the restaurant a couple of times and ate at the well equipped lodge at other times. We all enjoyed our stay and we’ve already recommended it to family and friends.
