We had a nice half term break at Newlands. We stayed in a Dorset Emerald Lodge which was a bit “tired” but did the job and was clean. The kitchen equipment had seen better days and was not so clean but I mentioned this as we left. The kids entertainment was nice and our kids liked the soft play area - unfortunately this was closed for a few days at the end of our trip. It is a bit tucked away making it hard to access with a buggy and it means that many people seem to let their children go in unaccompanied which I think could cause problems especially when busy. Overall, we had a nice break. Staff were friendly and the park and accommodation did what we needed it to! Not 5 stars but it isn’t pretending to be! We would go back.

We were missing some bedding, but this was sorted quickly and pleasently by the staff, very well done!

It was great to have seating provided outside the van. Unfortunately I was unable to use this on two days because of smoke blowing across the site from a fire of wood from trees bending cut back on the site

Cabin was clean but sofas were very scruffy and dated. The television only worked occasionally! Other than that, the accommodation was as expected. The restaurant and bar area were attractive and we had a good meal. Location was excellent as it was walking distance to the beach and village. Reception staff were very helpful on arrival.

Furniture (plastic) finish on settees was flaking off, and looked very bad. Cabin was surrounded by other cabins, which meant no view at all. Otherwise a clean and tidy cabin and site.

When we arrived at our caravan we found that the fridge had been left to defrost. As a result, when we opened it water gushed out all over the floor. However, we called Reception and a very nice man arrived within a few minutes to sort it out. The brochure stated that the park was unsuitable for people with mobility problems and this was true as it had many slopes. Also, the walk into Charmouth was the same. I think that one would have to be quite fit to be able to tackle either! Our caravan was clean and tidy but we would have appreciated a toaster as the grill took around 15/20 minutes to toast the bread. A hook on the bathroom door would have been handy as the bathroom was very small with nowhere to hang a bathrobe.

We have been going to Newlands for the best part of 10 years so we do enjoy it . We like the fact that it isnt too over crowded and that it feels safe for children.

I wasn't happy with the cleanliness of the mobile home we booked and the pool and changing rooms were a disgrace. The park on the site was much smaller than we were led to believe and the laundry room was rather dirty. Animals had previously been in our mobile home and dog hair was an issue with my 7 month old crawling around. Overall very unhappy.

We had a lovely stay apart from the swimming pool which needs a lot of work especially the changing rooms. The children’s indoor play area was good although could do with being made bigger.
