Great girls weekend away. The lodge had more than we expected (an oven) it was reasonably priced for a weekend. The only minor downside was when we asked for milk (which was noted on the website) the lady who brought it over was a bit shirty. However, when our hot water wasn’t working a gentleman came to fix that and he was very pleasant. I would come back and I have suggested it to friends already.

My partner and always go for a lodge break every winter. However, this year we needed to stay close to home so decided Marwell lodges would be a good choice. The reviews were good. However, sadly my review is not. Typhoon Lodge was really quite small compared to other lodges we have stayed in. Upon arrival we found the sofa covered in stains, and highly uncomfortable, it was like sitting on the floor. The wine glasses had lip stick marks on that I found myself having to wash every single one before I could relax with a glass of wine. On top of that there was no washing up bowl. Later in the week when I went to use a saucepan it was covered in food, which I had to scrub and scrub before I could use it. The toilet roll holder was broken. The walls were covered in grime. Amongst other concerns. The bed was really quite small and highly uncomfortable, we could feel the springs and the duvet was not big enough. My partner and I hardly slept for the week. We look forward to the sauna however, we could not get it to work for the whole week, even though we reported it on the Tuesday, no help was sent. You have to park your car by reception. That’s ok until you have to walk to your lodge in the dark with no lighting. Also when your loading and unloading your car upon arrival and leaving there is no turning point so have to turn car around in the mud. The lodges are in the activity centre itself so there is always lots of cars and people going past your lodge, not good when your trying to relax. On one occasion this went on until gone 10.00 at night the same car going in and out every 20 minutes or so. On a good note, the hot tub was amazing and well looked after. The only part of my break that I enjoyed. It’s a nice touch that you can use Marwell hotel facilities until you arrive there to find what they call a gym actually a cupboard with two treadmills in only, to the side of a very old and small swimming pool. Also the changing rooms don’t have showers and our freezing, as there was no heating on. The sauna was not hot I actually found myself shivering in there. Very disappointed. Show less

Lovely Lodges, however the Interaction with staff leading up to our stay was poor. I called on a few occasions to book activities and was hoping for expert advise Nd a little hand holding.; this did not happen. The staff did not.seem bothered whether I booked or not and considering the price of the activities, I would have expected a little more effort. Overall the stay was great and I would go again now that i know what to expect and dont need so much assistance with booking. Another issues was a lot of the activities require a minimum of participants(in some cases 10 people). As there was only 4 of us (varying age), we were ruled out of a alot of activities

Spotless lodge which couldn't be faulted! We booked the 8 berth for 6 of us which was perfect. I would say you would need this for 6 of you as there would not be much more room for more people and only six seats at the dining table but all in all the lodge is amazing value for money and we loved the weekend. Will definitely be booking again for next year!

8 of us adults and one 3-year old stayed in Lancaster Lodge 1 for a 4-night stay this January to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. The Lodge was lovely and clean and very nicely furnished. The park was very quiet due to the time of year, but the cafe/bistro and soft play area were open and our little grandson made full use of both. The food was reasonably priced (discount if you tell the staff you are resident in the lodges), and well cooked. The lodge patio was well furnished with a gas bbq, sun loungers for summer, and a great hot tub which my husband and i enjoyed one evening. All staff were very polite and friendly and the hot tub water chemicals were checked every morning and the water completely emptied and replaced at the end of each let.
